Challenge 4 - Baubles

It's hard to believe we are nearing the end of January and that means it's time for our 4th Challenge - ALREADY!
Once again we have been blown away with all your fantastic entries to our last challenge. Thank you so much for sharing your Glittery creations with us and spreading so much sparkle across blogland.
We'd also like you to know how honoured we feel that so many of you have placed our wee 'Bah! Humbug! Loyalty Banner' on your personal blogs. Your support is very much appreciated by us and we thank you for encouraging your friends to visit and join in with the fun.
So ... are you all ready for our next challenge?
This week the theme for your Christmas cards and projects is

BAUBLES

Those wonderful dingly-dangly ornaments that are hung on our trees to peep out from amongst the tinsel and crackers ... and occasionally hung on our ears if we've over-indulged on the Jolly Juice.

Your baubles can be any shape, any size and any colour
... they can be decoupaged, pyramaged or invertaged
... they can be foiled, embossed, flittered or glittered
... they can be any combination of the above or something completely different.
The choice is yours!

All we ask is that you have fun and remember to leave us a direct link in the comment box below so we can come and have a look-see.

**Challenge 4 Closes Noon (12pm UK time)
on Thursday 4th February**
If you'd like to see how we created our cards this week - just click the links above the images to take you there.

Really looking forward to seeing some fabulous entries again this week.

Top Tip Tuesday...

Something new on Bah! Humbug! and something that may become a regular weekly feature or it may just crop up randomly when one of the team feel they have something they consider shareworthy - we'll see.

Anyway this week I want to share some bargains with you.
The January sale frenzy is coming to a close, but that's just when you can pick things up really, really cheaply and, provided you have a place to store them, you can get some great deals for Christmas.
I bought this set of gift bags and wrap at Tesco - reduced from £3 to only 70p!  Quite good for 3 gift bags and 2 sheets of wrapping paper me thinks and of course, being a crafter, I spotted the plain red bag in the set and immediately thought 'ooooooooh I can make that a bit more glitzy!'

Carrying on our Bah! Humbug glitter theme I cut a scalloped circle and snowflake out of glitter card and matted and layered them on to the bag.
I used a small section of one of the wrapping papers and the original tag that was on the bag to mat the snowflake on. In the centre of the snowflake is a self adhesive gem stone ... which reminds me if you have a Poundland nearby watch out for these packs of gems...

They stick really well and ... okay some of the stones are a size that Elizabeth Taylor might wear ... but there's 120+ in the set so lots to go at and let's face it you can never have too much bling in your stash.
Hopefully you've enjoyed our first Top Tip Tuesday and don't forget to bring out your glitter for this week's challenge HERE.
It might be nice to see some glittery gift bags out there as well as cards.

Spot Prize Number One...

Remember when we said there may be spot prizes along the way for our loyal contributers - well today is the day for our very first Spot Prize which goes to...

***Beverly Gotthardt***

Congratulations Beverly and thank you for your beautiful entries in our first two challenges.
Beverly's cards can be seen here and here. We particularly loved her tree design and would really love to have a go at doing some paper folded trees ourselves one day.

We're not going to spill the beans about what Beverly's prize is as that would spoil the surprise for her, but I will say it's something that may have been useful in this week's challenge and something for next week's challenge too!!
Beverly please could you email Irene (address in side bar) within the next 4 days and we'll get your prize sent off to you as soon as possible.

To everyone else don't despair there are many more surprises to come in future weeks. So hit that glitter and join in this week's challenge right here.

Just to clarify our spot prizes are awarded on a randomly selected basis from our loyal entrants to our challenges. We couldn't possibly choose a winner by picking out the best cards. Way toooo difficult as they are all so good!

Challenge 3 - All That Glitters...

Yeah it's Friday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Bah! Humbug!

Last week was just amazing! Irene, Max and I had a whale of a time looking at all the fabulous new stash that everyone had used to complete their projects. Only trouble is that now we all have wish lists that are twice as long and they were pretty long to start with.

Seriously though it was an absolute joy to look at everyone's creations. I do hope that everyone will continue to join in and show us their amazing talent each week.

Now on to our new challenge ...

A GLITTERY CHRISTMAS CARD

Yes, you can use a little or a lot - the choice is yours, but we want to see sparkle on your projects. Actually glitter is quite hard to catch on camera so maybe we will have to use our imaginations on this one a little too.

Please note our challenge ends at NOON ( 12.00 GMT) on Thursday 29th January

Here are our creations using glitter...

Can't wait to see what everyone comes up! Also, please don't forget about our Loyalty Scheme. Max has made a fantastic little banner (on the side bar of our blog) that you may want to snag to place on your own blog.
We three muskateers (Irene, Max and I) have been talking and we were thinking this may be the week for a little surprise for someone - hmmm wonder who and what it might be?!
Watch this space!

Challenge 2 - Using New/Nearly New Stash

Hello Everyone
Irene here.

Thank you all so much for joining in our first challenge, we appreciate your support very much, and what a lot of creative crafters we have out there.

Now for our second challenge, but before I let you know the details there is a little matter of a prize to give out, and the lucky winner is

Drum roll please,

Congratulations to
SylviaAnne of Poppy's Papercraft Patch
our first winner

Well done Sylvia-Anne if you can e-mail us your details we will get your prize sent off to you.
Please remember to let us have your details within the next 4 days.

On to our second challenge, we thought that as Santa will have left you lots of Christmas craft goodies (which I am sure you are all dying to play with) our challenge is to use your

New or Nearly New Stash to make either a Christmas card or a project.

Please let us know what your stash is and remember your new/nearly new crafts item may be something that you can use all year but on this occasion used to make a Christmas themed project.
So if you got some lovely craft goodies for Christmas ... or have been naughty at the sales ... or even if you have something tucked away that you bought a while ago with good intentions but haven't used yet ... then we want you to dig them out for this challenge.

Please note our challenge ends at NOON ( 12.00 GMT) on Thursday 21st January

Here are our cards using our new goodies.
For more details of our cards and new stash please visit the blogs of Ann, Max and myself.

Thank you and an announcement...

Thank you all for your support of our new challenge so far this week. It's been so much fun and so exciting visiting everyone's blogs and seeing the wonderful creations. Oh my what a lot of talent there is in blog land!

Now I don't know about you all, but last January our halos were super shiny and we made at least 3 Christmas cards and then ... guess what? ... ZILCH!! Made a couple more in July and August for the challenges that were around entitled 'Christmas in July' etc and then ... ZILCH again. Not good!

We really don't want that to happen again this year so we've come up with a fiendish plan ...

A LOYALTY SCHEME!

We are going to keep a record of who enters our challenges each week and anyone who enters 30 or more challenges between now and December, will be eligible to have their name put in our Santa Hat for a rather special Christmas Prize Draw to be held at the beginning of December.

In addition to that, along the way we may be sending out little surprises to regular entrants on a random basis - you just never know what may arrive in your letter box ... nor indeed when.

To enter this week's recycling challenge please visit here.

Just adding a thank you for the really lovely comments we have received about this posting. Beryl said 'What a lovely generous challenge team you are.' Well I guess that all three of us, Max, Irene and I have gained so much since we started blogging that we want to give something back and Bah! Humbug! is our opportunity. - Ann xxx

Challenge 1 - Recycling!

Yeah, hello and welcome to the first challenge at Bah! Humbug! We are just so excited about this venture and hope you are too. Our aim over the next 12 months is to have loads of fun and at the same time ensure that by the time Christmas arrives we will all have a supply of beautiful cards to hand.

None of our followers will be getting that 'Bah! Humbug! - I can't cope with this feeling' around mid December. We will be totally chilled - hopefully!

So did you remember to watch out for 'recyclable' bits and bobs on your Christmas cards and wrapping paper. I hope so as our theme this week is ...

Recycling!

Not recycling the handmade cards you received - oh my goodness NO! - they need to be treasured, but recycling shop bought cards, wrapping paper and ribbons is a great fun thing to do.

Check out our cards and maybe visit our blogs to see just how these cards started out in life.

To add to the fun we have decided that the first challenge of each month will have a prize for one lucky randomly chosen winner. Yeah - we all love prizes!
This month to celebrate our very first challenge we have a gorgeous sheet of stamps by Elusive Images. Check out the picture at the top of this posting to see the stamps.

Important Note - Everyone, who submits a card or other project by leaving a comment and link to their entry by noon on Thursday 14th January (12.00 GMT) will be included in our draw. The winner will be announced on the 15th January alongside our new challenge.

Thanks for visiting our blog - we are so looking forward to seeing everyone's fabulous work. Hope you have time to play.
